"A bit of whimsy" in Barraba

After enjoying a few days in the small country town of Barraba NSW, I decided to do a guerilla installtion in the Main Street for a bit of fun. I installed this piece in the dark (and rain!) of Sunday night to see what the reaction would be on Monday morning.

Two locals were overheard discussing it: 

man: what is it? 

woman: I think it's art

man: oh

man: what does it do? 

woman: I dunno

When I noticed a local business owner taking pictures of it later in the  day I asked him (anonymously) what it was. "I don't know where it came from but I  think it's great. A bit of whimsy in the Main Street."
